It's about as wrong as me starting to think that Trig Palin is Sarah Palin's grandson, not her son...

I find that story so incredible. But back when the baby was born, I heard she was nursing him. I wonder if any e has seen his birth certificate.

It is a weird story and I don't know that the pictures are all that convincing. However, it's unbelievable that after her water broke she supposedly waited hours to give a keynote speech at the convention, took the plane from Texas to Alaska (2 flights and 8 hours) and then drove/was driven 43 minutes to her hometown. Waiting that long when she was carrying a baby with a Down syndrome (these babies often have other physical problems necessitating NCIU) when it was her fifth child (typically faster labor) ? If she really did all that, then she's seems to have poor judgment at the very least.

As for breast feeding, I knew someone that was able to breast feed her adopted child...

you totally can breastfeed an adopted child but you have to do tons of pumping inthe months before to get your body ready. I can't imagine a governor has that much time but obviuosly it is not conclusive. About her water breaking, back when he born, I read that she was leaking amniotic fluid which is different than the flood of water you normally associate with that phrase. You can actually have small ruptures in the membranes, have them leak and then heal. I flew two weeks before Ellie was born and one week before Frisco was born and it was no big deal. No one looked at me twice.

It is still a weird story. To me, the part that is the most "convincing" is that her daughter has supposedly been out of school for months.

From what I read, she was "in labor" when she was in Texas. That implies (to me) that her water had broken. If the Reuter's article about her daughter being pregnant right now is correct, then maybe the Governor actually was pregnant.

NYT says Bristol is currently pregnant. I guess that makes the other story impossible.

I know! Can you believe it? What drama! I still want to know why the kid was out of the school for 5-8 months with "mono" without losing any weight. The people I know who had serious cases of mono came back thinner (from being so sick) and never more than 6 weeks out of school.

How do you think the social conservatives will approach her now that they know her underage daughter is pregnant out-of-wedlock? Will they feel sympathy for her for having a troubled child or judge her for not being a good enough mother?

yeah, the whole thing is weird. I'm on my iphone with Frisco sleeping on my lap or I would go on and on. Hopefully, they will say "at least she is marrying the father and that is the beat as can do here". Plus, I sort of think that Gov Palin will get bonusmpoints for not aborting her son or pressuring her daughter to do so. It sounds horrible to say and it really is private but that is what I think will happen. I doubt anyone would say the last part in public but I'm sure they are thinking it.

She did say that the kid will be marrying the father but I don't care. I'll say this illustrates that Palin's views on only teaching abstinence in schools is completely misguided. Why do pro-lifers think pro-choice people like abortion? I hate the idea of abortion and I think using it as birth control is abhorant. But, if I was raped I'd use the morning after bill (which I believe pro-lifers think is abortion) without a second thought. And I'd never, never, never imply that someone who was pregnant with a Down Syndrome child should get an abortion. The Governor and pro-life advocates want to make her a martyr for having the kid, as if it shows how dedicated she is to the cause. It implies that the kid is some kind of burden to her that she bears because she's dedicated to the cause. How awful. These special needs children bring a lot of love into the world and treating the child as a burden and political tool is disgusting.

As for Bristol. Maybe she's five months pregnant, maybe she's not. We'll only know if the baby is carried to term and delivered healthy.
